Three tenets make FutureNovo work:

[edit] Anticipation

Change will happen whether we want it to or not. Putting our heads in the sand won't accomplish anything but it will certainly leave us unprepared for the many developments that lay ahead. As human beings, one of our best, most unique skills is our ability to create scenarios in anticipation of future events. We want to see what can happen when we do this collectively.

[edit] Participation

"Don't just anticipate - Participate" is our motto and anthem. User input drives this site. The more participants, the greater the knowledge, the broader the perspective and the better the forecasting. It's as simple as that.

[edit] Support

Support your ideas. If you believe something, say so - but be ready to back it up with objective fact. (Subjective belief systems are at the web site two doors down on the right.)

Support the users. We're all sticking our necks out a bit when we discuss things that haven't happened yet, so be respectful and supportive of other users. If you like someone's work, say so. If you don't agree with something, try to remember that there's a person on the other side of your conversation. The web is only the beginning in a long series of radical changes society will be going through. If we can't adapt our manners, behaviors and rights at this stage, we're going to be in for a whole lot of trouble later.

Support the technologies. Developing technologies are built on creativity, prior developments and a desire to go further. They're also driven by market forces. Many developments will come about a lot more rapidly if the marketplace knows that they're needed.
